Nutrition and You

Nutrition is the relationship of foods to the health of the human body . Proper nutrition means that you are receiving enough foods and supplements for the body to function at optimal capacity. It is important to remember that no single nutrient or activity can maintain optimal health and well being, although it has been proven that some nutrients are more important than others. All of the nutrients are necessary in different amounts along with exercise to maintain proper health.

There are six main types of nutrients used to maintain body health. They are: carbohydrates, fats, proteins, vitamins, minerals, and water . They all must be in balance for the body to function properly. There are also five major food groups. The groups are: fats and oils, fruits and vegetables, dairy products, grains, and meats.
Exercise is also an important part of nutrition. Exercise helps tone and maintain muscle tissue and ensure that the body’s organs stay in good condition. Healthy eating without exercise will not result in good nutrition and a healthy body – neither will exercise without nutrition. The most important thing about exercise is that it be practiced regularly and that it be practiced in accompaniment with a healthy diet. It is also desirable to practice more that one sport as different sports exercise different areas of the body.
Carbohydrates, proteins, and fats are the sources of energy for the body. The contained energy is expressed in calories. There are 9 calories per gram in fat and there are about 4 calories per gram in proteins and carbohydrates .
Carbohydrates are the main source of energy for the body. This energy is mostly used for muscle movement and digestion of food. Some sources of carbohydrates are : grains, fruits, vegetables, and anything else that grows out of the ground. The energy in carbohydrates is almost instantly digested. This results in a quick rise in blood sugar which is soon followed by a drop in blood sugar which is interpreted by the body as a craving for more sugars. This sugar low may also result in fatigue, dizziness, nervousness, and headache. However, not all carbohydrates do this. Most fruits, vegetables, legumes, and whole grains are digested more slowly.
Fats, which are lipids, are the source of energy that is the most concentrated. Fats produce more that twice the amount of energy that is in carbohydrates or proteins. Besides having a high concentration of energy, fat acts as a carrier for the fat soluble vitamins, A, D, E, and K. Also, by helping in the absorption of vitamin D, fats help make calcium available to various body tissues, in particular, the bones and teeth. Another function of fat is to convert carotene to vitamin A. Fat also helps keep organs in place by surrounding them in a layer of fat. Fat also surrounds the body in a layer that preserves body temperature and keeps us warm. One other function of fat is to slow the production of hydrochloric acid thereby slowing down digestion and making food last longer. Some sources of fats are meats and nuts as well as just plain oils and fats.
Proteins, besides water, are the most plentiful substance in the body. Protein is also one of the most important element for the health of the body. Protein is the major source of building material in the body and is important in the development and growth of all body tissues. Protein is also needed for the formation of all hormones. It also helps regulate the body’s water balance. When proteins are digested they are broken down into simpler sections called amino acids. However, not all proteins will contain all the necessary amino acids. Most meat and dairy products contain all necessary amino acids in their proteins. Proteins are available from both plants and animals. However, Animal proteins are more complete and thus desirable.
Knowledge of the nutrients and their function is essential to understanding the importance of good nutrition. As mentioned above, there are six nutrients.
All vitamins are organic food substances that are found only in living things, plants and animals . It is believed that there are about twenty substances that are active as vitamins in human nutrition . Every vitamin is essential to the proper growth and development of the body. With a few exceptions, the body cannot make vitamins and must be supplied with them. Vitamins contain no energy but are important as enzymes which help speed up nearly all metabolic functions. Also, vitamins are not building components of body tissues, but aid in the construction of these tissues. It is impossible to reliably determine the vitamin requirements of an individual because of differences in age, sex, body size, genetic makeup, and activity. A good source of a recommendation is the RDA. The RDA makes it’s recommendations based on studies of consumption of the given nutrient. On the recommendation it will usually specify what size diet the recommendation is based on, for example, a two thousand calorie per day diet. It is harmless to ingest excess of most vitamins. However, some vitamins are toxic in large amounts.
Vitamin A is a fat soluble vitamin which is only available in two forms. Pre-formed, which is found in animal tissue. The other is carotene, which can be converted into Vitamin A by animals . Carotene is found in easily found in carrots as well as other vegetables . Vitamin A is important to the growth and repair of body tissues and helps maintain a smooth, soft, and disease free skin. It also helps protect the mucus membranes of the mouth, nose, throat, and lungs which reduces the chance of infection. Another function is helping mucus membranes combat the effects of air pollutants. Vitamin A also protects the soft lining of all the digestive tract. Another function of vitamin A is to aid in the secretion of gastric juices.
The B complex vitamins have many known sub-types, but they all are water soluble vitamins. The B vitamins can be cultivated from a variety of bacteria, yeast, fungi, or molds . They are active in the body by helping the body convert carbohydrates into glucose, a form of sugar. B vitamins are also vital in the metabolism of proteins and fats. They are also the single most important element in the health of the nerves. B vitamins are also essential for the maintenance of the gastrointestinal tract, the health of the skin, hair, eyes, mouth, liver, and muscle tone. The intestine contain a bacteria that produces vitamin b but milk-free diets, and taking sulfonamides or antibiotics can destroy these bacteria . Whole grains contain high concentrations of B complex vitamins. Also, enriched bread and cereal products contain high concentrations of B vitamins due to a governmental intervention of the whole food group to ensure that the nation was getting enough B vitamins
Vitamin C, also known as ascorbic acid, is a water soluble vitamin. It is sensitive to oxygen and is the least stable of all vitamins . One primary function of vitamin C is to maintain collagen, a protein necessary for the formation of skin, ligaments, and bones. Vitamin C also plays a role in healing of burns and wounds because it aids the formation of scar tissue. It also helps form red blood cells and prevent hemorrhaging. Another function is to prevent the disease, scurvy, which used to be seen in sailors because of their lack of vitamin C in their diet. This was corrected by issuing each sailor one lime per day which supplied citric acid, a source of vitamin C. Other sources include broccoli, Brussels sprouts, Strawberries, Oranges, and grapefruits .
Vitamin E is a fat soluble vitamin which is made up of a group of compounds called tocoherols. There are seven forms of it but the form known as Alpha tocoherol is the most potent . Tocoherols occur in the highest concentrations in cold pressed vegetable oils, all whole raw seeds and nuts, and soybeans. Vitamin E plays an essential role in cellular respiration of all muscles, especially the cardiac and skeletal. It makes these muscles able to function with less oxygen, thereby increasing efficiency and stamina. It also is an antioxidant, which prevents oxidization. This prevents saturated fatty compounds from breaking down and combining to form toxic compounds.

Minerals are nutrients that exist in the body and in organic and inorganic combinations . There are approximately seventeen minerals that are necessary in human nutrition . Although only about four or five percent of the body weight is mineral matter, minerals are important to overall mental and physical health. All of the body’s tissues and fluids contain some amount of mineral. Minerals are necessary for proper muscle function and many other biological reactions in the body. Minerals are also important in the production of hormones. Another important function of minerals is to maintain the delicate water balance of the body and to regulate the blood’s pH. Physical and emotional stress causes a strain on the body’s supply of minerals. A mineral deficiency often results in illness, which may be treated by the addition of the missing mineral to the diet. Calcium, a primary mineral, is available through dairy products. In order to get all the other minerals, one should eat protein rich foods, seeds, grains, nuts, greens, and limited amounts of salt or salty foods.
Nutrition is just one aspect of total body health. It is important to remember that on must compliment good nutrition with good exercise and emotional health in order to achieve complete well being. It is also important to remember that no one part of nutrition will completely fulfill the body’s requirements for health.

AS I give to others

•December 8, 2009 • Leave a Comment

AS I give to others, I receive myself. It is in giving that we receive and what I most want for myself is more likely to manifest when I give it to another.

AS we give to others, we receive ourselves.

So if what we most wish for ourselves we give to another, just what could we be giving this day?

If we wish to feel more loved, then we could indeed make others feel more loved.

If we wish to feel more connected and less lonely, we could reach out to those who are lonelier still or need our connection with them.

If we wish to feel more joyful, we could provide joy in the lives of others.

And if we want more prosperity, we can give abundantly to others in our life.

So, often we crave for things that we are not prepared to contemplate giving to others.

We bemoan the lack of close friends yet we will fail to be a close friend to others in our life.

We want others to appreciate and acknowledge us, and yet we go about our life with our head down not noticing or praising others who are in our path.

Ultimately we need to become that which is our true nature.

So if we wish to be a loving and fulfilled person we also need to become Love.

Because until we become love than it stands to reason that we will have unloving encounters because we have not defined our life purpose or who we truly are in relation to our life.

We will never obtain joy, happiness and love in our life unless we are prepared to offer it to others.

We can give so much of what we wish to receive simply by raising our energy level.

As we increase our own energy level and higher the rate at which we vibrate so other people will be drawn to our presence… will connect with us.

As we become love, we will be surrounded by all those who need that love and will be loving towards us.

As we become anything, we will attract into our lives that which we are.

So a fearful person, will bring all sorts of fearful encounters in his or her consciousness.

Conversely, a loving kind person will attract a myriad of people who will allow the expression of that loving kindness.

And as like attracts like, it is reasonable and rational to suppose that a kind and compassionate person will also be bringing other kind and compassionate people into their life.

If we want to see our relationship improve, we need to put our energy and heart and soul into the relationship.

If we want more friends, we need to be a friend.

If we want more love, we have to be more loving.

If we want to feel less lonely, we have to go out and meet more people… drawing others out of their loneliness.

If you want something in your life simply give it to another.

What you wish for can be manifested naturally and with ease when you become and have that which you wish to be manifested.

So think carefully what you wish for in your life and then make sure you give it to another or others.

This is the surest and most successful way to draw it into your own life.

It is in giving we receive.

Letting Go of Your Ego

•December 8, 2009 • Leave a Comment

Hey guys,

Today we have a guest blogger, Noor Mohammad of http://www.successnation.org/

I have no authority to set any rule to do things. We all are free to accept or reject anything based on our feelings.

Step 1) analyze your feelings and words
Focus on your feelings and then see if your inner feelings are matching up your words or not. “Oh I would love to see you but inner feelings are telling something else” “I told it is not good to talk to so and so person and you are still doing it” “Don’t use this approach to do this (inner you knows that he or she doing right but your EGO is feeling threaten because he or she may come up with better results than you).”
Focus on your thoughts which turn into feelings. Don’t ignore those weird or not weird feelings which are there inside of you and telling you truth.

Step 2) Consequences
Any action taken under the influence of ego will result in pain and sorrow. For that moment you may feel that everything is under control or you have done great job but you don’t know what is going on in other mind. Your EGO made the decision to yell at your co-worker or partner to show him or her that you have more power or control and you can change things anytime, others may not say anything but sooner or later you may end up loosing a friend or relationship because ego is negative energy thus brings negative results.

You may be thinking that this is so much work. Let me ask you this, how long did it take you to find out that 2+2 is 4 when you were in school, may be few days. First you learned about numbers and then addition of those numbers. You practice more and now it just takes a second to find the result.
Spiritual knowledge works same way. It’s not like oh, I have read 100 books on spirituality and now I am a spiritual person, no, it does not work like this way. You need to start using the knowledge in your daily life. Once you start analyzing your feelings which means your thoughts then after few days or weeks you may find that you are not trying to analyze it is happening by itself. You can feel Ego is coming in and it will go away automatically because you are carrying strong spiritual knowledge and power.
I learned a word “Spoon feeding” in high school. Teacher said I am sharing my knowledge and now it’s up to you if want to follow it or not. I can’t spoon feed the knowledge and force you to use it

Are We Free Within Our Culture?

Vanessa Million: Changing a Million of Lives One Relationship at a Time

Every normal person, in fact, is only normal on the average. His ego approximates to that of the psychotic in some part or other and to a greater or lesser extent. Sigmund Freud

Are We Free Within Our Culture?
I believe that within limitation we are free in our culture. George Herbert Mead thought, “both our mind and our body are social products”. He believed they were the outcome of our interactions with other people rather than how we grew up. I think that no matter what we believe to be right or true at a given time, if we have peers around we will tend to go with the crowd.
Sigmund Freud believed that is was important that the social agents of an individual were important to create the “sense of right and wrong as these matters are defined by cultural values, beliefs, and norms”. Freud also believed in the he thought it was important to “counteract the antisocial impulses of the id”. I think that Freud would have believed that we are free within our culture. He thought that the parents, peers, and teachers were important in guided us in the right direction but when it comes down to it we are the only one that can make the decision. We might have society behind us trying to edge us in one direction but we truly chose which way to go.
I agree with Freud on this topic. I know that we have all been put in the situation to chose between right and wrong and have had a hard time choosing. I know that I have. You want to make the right choice but you are not really sure. You want to go with want the society says but is it always right? I think this is where we are culturally free. Even though we have the believes of our family, our friends, what we have been taught in school, and what society says is right we also have our own believes. What we choose in the end is what we choose.
Just because someone sees us how the see us does not mean that is how we are. When I think of a rich person I think of someone rolling in money and being stuck up. I do not know any rich people so this is how I will continue to see them until I am proven wrong. They have the freedom of will to change how most people thing of them. People in any situation have the freedom to change their status and position to get to a better one or one that they enjoy more. We are never stuck in any place. We can always move up or down depending on how you want to be. It is all based on how much will power we have and how motivated we are to change our positions.
I think that understanding sociology could restrict personal freedom. I think of the angel on one shoulder and the devil on the other shoulder when I think of this. Understanding sociology is the one of them (you choose which one). It pulls you one way and wants you to go that way but then you have your own believes pulling you the other way. Understanding sociology just gives you more options. I think that it is good to have more options sometimes but other times you only want one choice. You just want to go the way everyone wants you to go and not ague with it. Just go with the flow.
When it all comes down I believe we are culturally free. We have a lot of knowledge on how to solve problems our handle life but we have the finale say on things.

Amazing Health Benefits of Hypnotherapy and Meditation:Can the mind heal?

“The greatest wealth is health.” Virgil

Amazing Health Benefits of Hypnotherapy and Meditation:Can the mind heal?

The mind has an incredible power. We see it as we go through our everyday activities, constantly displaying the wonders of logic, thought, memory and creativity. Yet, can the mind be more powerful than we know? Is it possible to reduce or even eliminate pain, illness and disease by using the natural powers it possesses? Can the mind heal?
Many of our finest researchers and scientists have explored that question, and while the exact answer still eludes us, the facts seem to bear out that the mind does have the power to assist in both healing, and conversely, bringing on “disease” as well. Two such examples of mind and body healing are hypnotherapy and meditation. There are others such as ionization, which focuses on thinking positive instead of negative. But first, I will describe the reasoning behind the mind-body connection.

Psychoneuroimmunology is the name for the study of the min-body connection, or PNI for short. PNI has been around for the last 20 years or so and has revolutionized the way we look at health and wellness. There was a point in human existence when the connection between the mind and the body was taken for granted. A couple of centuries ago, science had grown to understand the “mechanical universe” concept. The laws of Sir Newton and the science of physics had begun to infiltrate the science of medicine. If the universe followed mechanical laws, so might the body. To prove this theory, scientists needed to open a body up to observe how it worked. The Church was very adamant about the body being the temple of the soul and could never be desecrated. After much haggling and several smoke-filled back room discussions, an agreement was reached. The Church would maintain it’s jurisdiction over “the mind” for that is were the personality and soul “truly” resides and science could have the body, which is just a “machine for the mind” and upon death, would become simply an empty vessel.

Furthering the rift, more recent science has discovered that specific diseases can be “cured” through specific medicinal formulas or drugs. This “magic bullet” mentality spread throughout medicine and science. Truly the body was a mechanical thing that responded to specific stimulus and could be counted on to respond the same way every time. Wonderful news, the body did not respond as intended. Science has tried to brush aside or explain away this phenomenon y saying, “Oh, it’s just the placebo effect” or “It’s spontaneous remission” as well as other innocuous terms seemingly to lessen it’s importance. It is human nature when something is not understood to either dismiss it, diminish it or ignore it all together. This search to seek out answers to this reoccurring phenomenon is the basis for PNI, the way the mind-body connection is made and how we can utilize it for greater health and well-being.
Over the past decade, we have come a long way in understanding the psycho-biology of mind-body communication and the mental/emotional processes involved. To begin with, most of us have a basic understanding of how psycho-biology communication occurs through the nervous system. Messages are transmitted through electrical impulses along a system of nerves that connect the brain to every system, organ, gland, muscle, etc.. When we want to lift our arm, the specific signals race along the nerves to the required muscles, ligaments, etc., in order to accomplish the task. There is, also, the “autonomic” nervous system that sends the electrical impulses automatically, without conscious thought, to such parts as the heart, lungs, digestive tract, etc.. That way we don’t have to worry about things like forgetting to have our heart beat.
There is another facet to this seemingly automatic activity. The “autonomic immune system”. The immune system cells, which free-float throughout our bodies, act all on their own, automatically. When you get an infection, the immune system kicks in and takes care of the problem. How do they know when to go into action? New research is pointing that there is another open line of communication. A biochemical, molecular code that is transmitted to each cell. This code is in the form of hormones or neuroceptides. Each cell of the body has receptors for these neuroceptides. The code contained in the peptide is then communicated to the cell. The cell then acts according to this communication, just like a muscle acts according to the signals it receives. The cell then sends biochemical responses back into the system. This allows for the two-way communication not only between itself and the brain, but also between itself and other cells. This shows itself openly the well coordinated immune cells attacking an invading bacteria. Communication is paramount to a successful immune system defense. This biochemical connection must also have a direct link to the mind. Researchers have found that link. If you were to draw a line through your head starting just behind your ear going to just behind the other ear, at the middle of that line you would find a clumping of glands and blood vessels called the Limbic-Hypothalamic System which consists of the limbic system, hypothalamus and the pituitary gland. The connection works this way. A mental/emotional state exits within the mind; the mind transmits the image of that state through the nervous system and to the Limbic-Hypothalamic system. Every system, organ, gland, fiber and cell of the body receives the message. Then they each act according to the message. To illustrate a point, a university study was done on the immune system of persons whose long-term partner had recently died. Having factored out all other affecting stimulus but grief, it was discovered that the immune system in the state of deep grief operated at 70% decrease of activity. In other words, the immune system was running at only 30%. That can explain why the widowed spouse, who was never sick in their life, would die of pneumonia or such related disease, 6 months after their spouse’s death. You know yourself, how emotions can boost your energy level or drain it to almost nothing. The images and experiences that we fill our mind with get communicated and then translated physically. This is how stress operates. The major stressors (like job loss, death, divorce and etc.) while having a significant effect, are not the major culprit of stress related health problems. It seems that the little stressors (like being late for work, a car cutting you off on the expressway, etc.) have more effect on us physically. The theory is that the little stressors are judged to be of little or no importance, so we tend to ignore their effect. All those little frustrations unconsciously remain frustrations even when they are forgotten long ago to our conscious awareness. They linger on and their effects never diminish. All the images we carry with us are communicated to all parts of our body all the time. You tell yourself something often enough, you will start believing it. The body hears that you “don’t have a leg to stand on” or you’re dying of cancer”, or that argument you had with your parents twenty years ago is still eating away at you. It will then respond to that communication. If you have an internal image of “I only seem to take time off when I’m sick”, your body will make you sick when you need that time off. You can be sure your body will give you what you expect. Think negative and bad things can happen, think positive and good things can happen. It’s all within the mind and body connection. Now we understand the communication between the mind and body, let’s go back to how the mind can assist the body in healing. One method of accomplishing that is through hypnotherapy. Hypnotherapy is the reconditioning of certain sensory reactions to the stimuli of anxiety so that physiological symptoms such as ulcers and headaches will not be produced. Habitual reactions of the patient are altered under hypnosis. After the therapist has changed the patient’s anxiety-producing sensation system, the subject is trained in the use of the new responses in life outside therapy. The problems that hypnotherapy is best placed to help with, fall into thoughts and ideas, feelings and habits. People can suffer from thoughts of low self-esteem, or obsessive thoughts about someone or something. They may not be able to get out of their minds the idea that they are suffering from an illness.
Hypnotherapy can help the person to change such ideas; sort of like altering the mind. Other people can suffer from a wide range of distressing feelings, such as panic attacks, anxiety, jealousy, guilt, anger and inadequacy. Whatever the problem feeling, hypnotherapy can deal with it more specifically than can a drug and without side effects. On the other hand, people can find themselves in the grip of many habits that they seem unable to control, from something like nail-biting or smoking to more deep-seated compulsions. Hypnotherapy, using hypnotic techniques, can help to remove habits with precision and a freedom from side effects. There is of course, a considerable variation in the difficulty of the various problems, and there is no general rule which makes it possible to say how much improvement can be achieved and in how much time. The simpler problems can at times be overcome completely in one session; hypnosis can be extremely effective. More deeply rooted problems may take longer.
On the contrary, meditation is taking the time to get in touch with our true nature. It is a simple effort that becomes effortless as we do it more and more. True effort comes in simply taking the time out of our hectic lives. The rest is easy. When we first begin to meditate, our minds resist. We are used to a constant chatter in our minds. Our thoughts are often uncontrolled. We worry about our jobs, finances, relationships, out “to do” list, and the list goes on. All of this belongs to the physical world. The practice of meditation helps us temporarily let the physical world go so we can begin to see ourselves as we truly are – spiritual beings. Meditation helps us in many ways. You will begin to notice some benefits right away, while others will occur gradually. Beyond the purely physical benefits, which have been scientifically proven, meditators receive emotional and mental benefits as well as spiritual enrichment. When we meditate, we are focused only on the experience of meditation. We are living “in the moment.” There is no room for our worries or fears. The stresses and tensions we have been carrying around are suspended. We become relaxed and are able to experience inner peace and joy. Some of the results of meditation show we gain: increased clarity of mind, improved emotional well-being, increased happiness, increased intelligence, increased creativity, improved memory and improved relationships. Meditation has been used successfully in the treatment and prevention of high blood pressure, heart disease, migraine headaches, and autoimmune diseases such as diabetes and arthritis. It has proved helpful in reducing obsessive thinking, anxiety, depression and hostility. Learning to meditate takes only a few minutes and your body will immediately start to respond. However, regular meditation is needed to gain the full benefits of meditation. With practice your level of relaxation will deepen. Your attention span will increase. You’ll become more skilled at living in the present moment. Many of the mental and spiritual aspects of meditating will become apparent over time.
This ability to heal ourselves lies within each of us. It is just a matter of learning to tap to this incredible resource, to make the mind-body connection, to reach within ourselves and discover how much power we have over our bodies and ourselves. This is what will ultimately lead us all to a higher quality of life, true health, and wellness. I think the future of the mind-body connection is gaining a lot more respect than it used to. Conventional physicians want to learn a great deal on this phenomenon. Doctors and practitioners are becoming aware that we, the patients, just don’t want conventional medicine anymore. We want to heal ourselves. To be able to use our mind and body to prevent disease and become a lot more aware of how our bodies function. There is always something that can be done to help us improve the quality of our life. Maybe even make strides toward ending the condition. By studying the self-images, understanding the way we think and feel about the world and how we fit into it, we can adjust them and change the outcomes, both mentally and physically. By understanding the process, we can take the necessary action to change what we don’t want and create what we do want.

Vanessa Million: Changing a Million of Lives One Relationship at a Time

…….every one of you who stands in your body, continues to enhance the experience of the physical body. This is an evolution of a species that is extraordinary. Your bodies are not to be feared. Your bodies are to be revered. Your bodies are to be applauded. Your bodies are to be maybe even
amazed at.

But they are never to be feared. Your bodies are not vulnerable. They’re not fragile. They are resilient. They are flexible. You have the ability to come into alignment again and again and again, and if anyone in the Universe understands that, it’s the cells of your body. Befriending your body is the only way we know of coming to understand that your body is resilient and that it knows what to do, and that it will be whatever you ask it to be. But you have to ask it to be that in a place of nonresistance. It’s the most significant information that we have ever expressed relative to your physical body and food. You must love your body, and then lovingly give it the food. And when you love your body and lovingly give it the food, it matters not what food you give it.

But you have to ask it to be that in a place of nonresistance. It’s the most significant information that we have ever expressed relative to your physical body and food. You must love your body, and then lovingly give it the food. And when you love your body and lovingly give it the food, it matters not what food you give it.

“Are you pretending you’re alone again? What an impossible story!” Rumi

Hey guys, we have our favorite guest blogger again, Noor Mohammed of http://www.successnation.org

His words touch my mind and uplift my soul. It’s my honor and privilege to have a man of integrity and insight in my personal and professional life…

Stay Hungry

Let me share with you a story. It made me realize why the material things don’t really matter and how we should remain hungry all our lives.

An emperor was coming out of his palace for his morning walk when he met a beggar. He asked the beggar, “What do you want?”

The beggar laughed and said, “You are asking me as though you can fulfill my desire!”

The king was offended. He said, “Of course I can fulfill your desire. What is it? Just tell me.”

And the beggar said, “Think twice before you promise anything.”

The beggar was no ordinary beggar, he was the emperors past life master. He had promised in that life, “I will come and try to wake you in your next life. This life you have missed but I will come again.” But the king had forgotten completely — who remembers past lives? So he insisted, “I will fulfill anything you ask. I am a very powerful emperor, what can you possibly desire that I can not give to you?”

The beggar said, “It is a very simple desire. You see this begging bowl? Can you fill it with something?”

The emperor said, “Of course!” He called one of his viziers and told him, “Fill this mans begging bowl with money.” The vizier went and got some money and poured it into the bowl, and it disappeared. And he poured more and more, and the moment he would pour it, it would disappear. And the begging bowl remained always empty.

The whole palace gathered. By and by the rumor went throughout the whole capital, and a huge crowd gathered. The prestige of the emperor was at stake. He said to his viziers, “If the whole kingdom is lost, I am ready to lose it, but I cannot be defeated by this beggar.”

Diamond and pearls and emeralds, his treasuries were becoming empty. The begging bowl seemed to be bottomless. Everything that was put into it — everything! — immediately disappeared, went out of existence. Finally it was the evening, and the people were standing there in utter silence. The king dropped at the fat of the beggar and admitted his defeat. he said, “Just tell me one thing. You are victorious – but before you leave, just fulfill my curiosity. What is the begging bowl made of?”

The beggar laughed and said, “It is made up of the human mind. There is no secret. It is simple made up of human desire.”

This understanding transforms life. Go into one desire — what is the mechanism of it? First there is a great excitement, great thrill, adventure. you feel a great kick. Something is going to happen, you are on the verge of it. And then you have the car, you have the yacht, you have the house, you have the woman, and suddenly all is meaningless again.

What happens? Your mind has dematerialized it. The car is standing in the drive, but there is no excitement anymore. The excitement was only in getting it. You became so drunk with the desire that you forgot your inner nothingness. Now the desire is fulfilled, the car in the drive, the woman in your bed, the money in your bank account – again excitement disappears. Again the emptiness is there, ready to eat you up. Again you have to create another desire to escape this yawning abyss.

That’s how one moves from one desire to another desire. That’s how one remains a beggar. Your whole life proves it again and again — every desire frustrates. And when the goal is achieved, you will need another desire.

The day you understand that desire as such is going to fail comes the turning point in your life.

The other journey is inwards. move inwards, come back home.

Stay Hungry, Stay Foolish,

Noor Mohammed

Vanessa Million: Changing Millions of Lives One Relationship at a Time.

I am glorious whole and complete, empowered and wise. The whole Universe completely supports me. Love joyous flows through every cell and atom in me; my soul is free…my mind is boundless… my body is uninhibited… I am whole and one with all of life…I am magnificently whole… Vanessa Million

Reinvent Yourself Step Out of Your Comfort Zone (Was your ex really that fabulous?)

Ok guys time to shake things up.

Enough ruminating about your ex husband/wife…

Stop pondering about your fiancé, let them go…

Time to turn the page.

Oh my gosh really, was your ex that wonderful?

No more Ménage à trios with Ben n Jerry’s Cherry Garcia.

Enough “why me syndrome.”

I assure you, they have moved on and are dating others; Ok enough about them, I care about YOU…

I was thinking the other night that our romantic lives are like our fitness routine, Every so often,
you may find yourself feeling like you’re stuck in a rut. You’re so
comfortable with your romantic partner or perhaps with the way that
you respond to breakups, that you no longer know what it’s like to
be happy, healthy, and confident in a relationship. If you get stuck in a rut
after a breakup, then there’s a good chance your next relationship
will offer you more of the same challenges that you experienced
in your last relationship.

In other words, if you always behave the same way in a relationship as
well as when the relationship ends, you’ll get the same lackluster
results you’ve always gotten. As Albert Einstein once said, “The
definition of insanity is doing to same thing over and over again and
expecting a different result.”

I’m here to challenge you with a kind of “breakup boot camp” of my own.
If you’ve recently broken up with someone and are still feeling the
sting, your mind is telling you it’s time for a total overhaul.

It’s time to Reinvent Yourself & Step Out of Your Comfort Zone.

Scary? Yes. But completely necessary if you hope to create a new and
improved, totally mentally toned YOU.

You see, when we’re forced to transform ourselves and do things
we’ve never done before, our minds are forced to adapt to this new
version of you. It’s like me beginning my new exercise routine; my
body must adapt to the changes I’ve thrust upon it. The end
result is new muscle growth and a leaner, fitter YOU.

Consider this “uncomfortable” time as a period when your mind can
truly adapt to a new version of you, producing a stronger, more
confident person who isn’t afraid of what anyone thinks of them.

And once you officially accept that you are single and that you deserve a new whole relationship with a person who respects and loves you, you’ll be
taking that first step toward finding the person who will give you
the love and respect you deserve.

Your own happiness is at stake here. Free yourself — and your ex –
to move on with your lives, and you’ll find new growth like you
have never imagined. You deserve joy, happiness, and most important, to
be yourself — you can live happily without your ex by your
side.

Embrace your new SINGLE+HOOD with pride, and fill your life with
fun activities that make YOU happy. (Throw away those sweatpants NOW!) Pull out the stilettos and your sexiest mini-dresses and focus on living in the now. Focus on living the way that you want to live, and forget about what everyone else wants for
you. ENJOY life…

You’ll find that this new version of you isn’t concerned with
others’ PERCEPTION of you. Instead, you’ll be focused on enjoying
your life — and before you know it, you’ll have GOOD mate clamoring
to get to know you since you’re being your most authentic, fun, playful, sexy, glorious, self.

You might not realize it right away, but your breakup is an
outstanding opportunity to reinvent yourself and create a whole
new approach to dating that will help you find and keep Mr./Ms Right.

Start living today in a way that affirms YOUR identity so that you
feel more “you” than you’ve ever felt before.

Remember you matter to me.
No matter what you are going on in your life I am here to support and guide you.
Send me an e-mail, I want to hear about your victories and thanks for following me on my blog, Twitter, and Face-book.

You are important to me and I enjoy hearing from you

Remember You’re Fabulous and Marvelous!

Love,

Your Coach,

Vanessa Million
